Honorable Judges, fellow students:
Good afternoon!
Recently, ther is a heated debate in our society. The college students are the beneficiaries of a rare privilege, who receive exceptional education at extraordinary places. But will we be able to face the challenge and support ourselves against all odds? Will we be able to better the lives of others? Will we be able to accept the responsibility of building the future of our country?
The cynics say the college students are the pampered lost generation, which would cringe at the slightest discomfort. But the cynics are wrong. The college students I see are eagerly learning about how to live independently. We help each other clean the dormitory, go shopping and bargain together, and take part time jobs to supplement our pocket money.
The cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect the need for character cultivation. But again, the cynics are wrong. We care deeply for each other, we cherish freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth. Last week, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order to make a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.
As college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point in our lives. We all face a fundamental choice: cynicism or faith, each will profoundly impact our future, or even the future of our country. I believe in all my fellow classmates. Though we are still inexperienced and even a little bit childish. I believe that we have the courage and faith to meet any challenge and take on our responsibilities. We are Pparing to assume new responsibilities and tasks, and to use the education we have received to make our world a better place. I believe in our future.

懷疑論者說我們除了成績什么都不關(guān)心，從而忽略了性格的培養(yǎng)。但是，他們又錯了。我們彼此關(guān)心，我們向往自由，我們珍惜公正，我們追求真理。上個星期，很多我的同學(xué)去驗血，為了給患血癌的孩子貢獻自己的力量。
作為大學(xué)生，我們是處在人生分水嶺的青年。我們都面臨一個重要的選擇：懷疑人生還是相信自己，每一種都會給我們的人生帶來重大的影響，甚至影響我們祖國的未來。我相信我們的同學(xué)們，雖然我們依然缺乏經(jīng)驗，甚至有些志氣，但是我相信我們有勇氣和自信來面對生活的挑戰(zhàn)并承擔我們的責任。我們正努力準備接受新的任務(wù)，用我們所學(xué)習的知識將世界變得更美好。我對我們的未來充滿信心。

China is faced with some enormous challenges as it enters the 21st century. In order to ensure the prosperity of our nation and its future generations we must confront and ultimately solve these challenges.
Some of the more Pssing issues facing China are universal. These include environmental degradation, over population and the effects of globalization.
To overcome some of the things we need to implement include:
Enhancing our scientific and industrial technologies in such areas as IT, Bio- tech, AI and Cybernetics.
Further develop public infrastructure in under developed regions.
Promote education reform at all levels.
Introduce sustainable development initiatives.
The implementation of free trade agreement between China and ASEAN.
The benefit to China in introducing these initiatives will be significant and far-reaching. It is important to realize that these initiatives need to filter down through all elements of the society in China. For instance, cutting edge technologies and intellectual properties; the development of e-commerce based economy; an education system that encourages innovation and creativity; increased foreign investment; higher living standards; more efficient use of natural resources.
It is important for us to realize these reforms are both essential and necessary. These will help China to fulfill its vast and unrealized potential on the world stage. It will also contribute more to a globalized world of the new century.
As for the future our task is not to foresee but to enable.

中國在邁向二十一世紀的同時，也面臨著一些巨大的挑戰(zhàn)，為了確保我國的繁榮及為子孫后代著想，我們必須面對挑戰(zhàn)并最終從根本上解決它們。
一些中國即將面臨的挑戰(zhàn)迫切的問題是全球普遍存在的。這些問題包括環(huán)境惡化，人口過剩及全球化的影響。為了解決這些問題，我們需要實施以下措施
(1)提高并增強我們的科學(xué)及產(chǎn)業(yè)技術(shù)，如在信息技術(shù)產(chǎn)業(yè)，生物技術(shù)領(lǐng)域，人工智能以及神經(jīng)機械學(xué)領(lǐng)域;
(2)加快推動欠發(fā)達地區(qū)的公共設(shè)施建設(shè);
(3)促進不同層次的教育改革;
(4)使可持續(xù)發(fā)展的觀念深入人心;
(5)推行中國與東南亞聯(lián)盟的自由貿(mào)易協(xié)定。
中國將受益于積極主動的采取具有重要深遠意義的措施。認識到這些措施需要實施到中國社會的各個層面是重要的，從而帶來廣泛且深遠的各種改善，如：邊緣科技及知識產(chǎn)權(quán);發(fā)展以電子商務(wù)為基礎(chǔ)的經(jīng)濟; 一種鼓勵發(fā)明與創(chuàng)造的教育體制;的外國投資; 更高的生活水平;更加有效的利用自然資源。
我們要意識到各項改革措施是根本的也是有必要的。這些將會促進中國在世界舞臺上實現(xiàn)其巨大且尚未實現(xiàn)的潛力。
這也將會對全球化的新世紀做出貢獻。
至于未來，我們的任務(wù)不是去預(yù)知未來，而是努力去使其成為現(xiàn)實。

My Hometown?Inner Mongolia
Good morning ladies and gentlemen, today, I would like to introduce my beloved hometown?Inner Mongolia to all of you. It has been 57 years since the birth of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on May 1st, 1947. Dominated by the Mongolian nationality, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is located on the northern frontier of China. The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region occupies an area of 1.18 million square kilometers and has a population of about 20 million people who rePsent a score of different nationalities. Every time when people talk about Inner Mongolia, they’ll come down to the vast grassland. Yes, the Inner Mongolian prairie area makes up a quarter of the total grassland area of the country. On the boundless expanse of the Inner Mongolian prairie are living numerous sheep, Cattle and horses, on which our Mongolian have lived for generations. That is why the grassland is eulogized as “cradle of life”. There are two vast grasslands in my hometown?Hulun Buir Grasslands and Xilin Gol Grasslands which are both world-famous regions. People in Inner Mongolia are famous for their bravery, enthusiasm and hospitality. No mater where you are from, as long as you come to a herdsman’s house, you will be warmly entertained with roasted whole lamb and milk tea, and what’s more, you can also apPciate beautiful Mongolian songs and elegant dances. It is not exaggerating to say Mongolians are born singers and dancers. The moment you set your feet on the grassland areas you will discover it is indeed a real land of songs and dances.
Today’s Inner Mongolia still maintains her ethnic characteristics and at the dame time, she tries to keep pace with the development of the modern world. Ordus is a worldwide well-known brand, Yili and Mengniu are both the famous dairy industries, which have greatly improved the living standard of our Mongolian people. And I’m sure, our Mongolian people will make great effort to contribute to our hometown. As a college student, I know quite clearly that my mission is to master solid knowledge and one day do good to my beloved hometown.

早上好，女士們先生們，今天我想給大家介紹一下我的家鄉(xiāng)??內(nèi)蒙古。內(nèi)蒙古自治區(qū)區(qū)自1947年5月1日成立以來，已有57年的歷史了。坐落在中國北部邊陲的內(nèi)蒙古自治區(qū)是一個以蒙古族為主的地區(qū)。它擁有118萬平方公里的土地面積，2000萬來自不同民族的人民共同居住在這里。

I take with me the memory of Friday afternoon ACM happy hours, known not for kegs of beer, but rather bowls of rainbow sherbet punch. Over the several years that I attended these happy hours they enjoyed varying degrees of popularity, often proportional to the quality and quantity of the accompanying refreshments - but there was always the rainbow sherbert punch.
I take with me memories of purple parking permits, the West Campus shuttle, checking my pendaflex, over-due library books, trying to print from cec, lunches on Delmar, friends who slept in their offices, miniature golf in Lopata Hall, The Greenway Talk, pision III basketball, and trying to convince Dean Russel that yet another engineering school rule should be changed.
Finally, I would like to conclude, not with a memory, but with some advice. What would a graduation speech be without a little advice, right? Anyway, this advice comes in the form of a verse delivered to the 1977 graduating class of Lake Forest College by Theodore Seuss Geisel, better known to the world as Dr. Seuss - Here's how it goes:
My uncle ordered popovers from the restaurant's bill of fare. And when they were served, he regarded them with a penetrating stare . . . Then he spoke great Words of Wisdom as he sat there on that chair: "To eat these things," said my uncle, "you must excercise great care. You may swallow down what's solid . . . BUT . . . you must spit out the air!"
And . . . as you partake of the world's bill of fare, that's darned good advice to follow. Do a lot of spitting out the hot air. And be careful what you swallow.

Learn How to Say No
We've all been taught that we should help people. It is the right thing to do and will make us popular with others. It may even win us favors in return. However, we must be realistic. We can't say yes to every request. If we did, we would fail or go crazy for sure. Sometimes we simply don't have the time to help. In this case, we must know how to say no politely.
When we need to say no, here is one method we can try. First, we should tell the truth. If we really can't do something, we should just say so. Second, we should remember to refuse requests politely. We must communicate clearly, but must also be sincere and sympathetic. A true friend will understand. Finally, we must not feel guilty about saying no. Sometimes refusing others is the right thing to do. It can save ourselves, and them, a lot of trouble. In short, we cannot please everyone all the time. Refusing favors is a part of life.
